AFEA’s Founder: Mr. Anthony Fok
Mr. Anthony Fok is the founder and principal Economics tutor of JC Economics Education Centre Pte Ltd, a leading ‘A’ Level Economics education centre in Singapore.
He graduated with an Honours Degree in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and holds a Degree in Economics from Murdoch University, Australia. He subsequently attained his Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the National Institute of Education (NIE) in Singapore and Master of Education from Monash University, Australia. He is completing his Doctor in Education (EdD) at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University.
As a former full-time Ministry of Education (MOE) school teacher, he has taught at various government schools in Singapore and is equipped with several years of teaching experience. He is also the author of numerous Economics guidebooks and is the author of the Economics Ten-Year-Series, which is sold locally and overseas.
The Sunday Times newspaper has featured Anthony as one of the five “most sought-after Super Tutors” in Singapore. MediaCorp’s Channel 5 and Channel 8 TV Programme has acknowledged him as “an educator with extraordinary qualities.”
Mr. Fok was also a panel speaker at the National Library Board’s 20th Anniversary Celebrations Discussion Forum moderated by Professor Tommy Koh, Ambassador-At-Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Professor Koh has remarked that Anthony is not only a “great teacher but also a wonderful human being; warm, caring and inspiring.”
Anthony is also President of The Association of Tutors (Singapore), a not-for-profit organisation which facilitates better ties between tutors and the education community. He founded this association with the vision of building a common ground for all parties to collaborate as a collective cohort.
With AFEA, Anthony hopes to share his expertise and best practices with the next generation of tutors and optimise the possibility of success for every tuition centre.
